Abstract:

There are almost two million tons of low-grade iron ore that has been extracted and stored at the Sangan mine site. In order to evaluate the feasibility of iron concentrate production, finding the maximum recovery percentage and optimal grade is of great importance due to the dependence of economic parameters and design on it. In this study, in order to evaluate the capability of achieving high assay, Davis tube test was used to evaluate the effect of magnetic field intensity and grain size of the input feed. For this purpose, different granulations of ۴۵, ۱۰۰ and ۳۰۰μm in different magnetic field intensities of ۱۱۰۰, ۱۶۰۰ and ۲۵۰۰ gauss were studied. The results showed that with decreasing the particle size of concentrate particles, the assay percentage increased and the recovery decreased. Also, in a specific granulation fraction, with increasing magnetic field intensity, the assay percentage decreased and the recovery percentage increased.
