Abstract:

The extraction of Ca(II), Sr(II), and Zn(II) from aqueous solution into the organic phase containing Tributyl phosphate(TBP) as an extractant has been studied. The effect of several parameters such as type of solvent, type of anion and HCl concentration in the aqueous phase was evaluated. The results showed that TBP is not a suitable extractant for calcium ions but it can extract Zn and Sr ions. The effect of solvent on zinc extraction was found to be in the order of kerosene > toluene. The extraction efficiencies of zinc ions were ۱۶.۶%, ۵.۱% and ۳.۲% for NO۳-, Cl-and CH۳COO- as counter anions, respectively. The addition of HCl to aqueous solutions leads to an enhancement of calcium ion extraction.
