Abstract:

Using individual concrete blocks is one of the most advantageous ways to reduce the destructive effects associated with an explosion in mines due to their multiple advantages such as feasibility, efficiency and performance, as well as high speed of installation. The mass density and physical strength of the materials that make up concrete blocks are two key parameters that influence the performance of wall systems, factors that have been studied extensively in this study. To this end, concrete walls with different strengths and densities were modeled in Abaqus finite element software. According to the findings, the density of the concrete blocks has no significant effect on the system's performance and the most important factor affecting the efficiency of the walls is the strength and fracture energy of concrete.
