Abstract:

Introductions: As the coronavirus disease ۲۰۱۹ (COVID-۱۹) pandemic takes hold, nurses are on the front line of health and social care in the most extreme of circumstances. to identify prevalence and factors associated with anxiety and depression in nursing professionals who work to cope with COVID-۱۹.Material and methods: This article is a narrative review and was done by searching in Google Scholar PubMed, Scopus databases with keywords Mental health, Nursing, Covid-۱۹, Anxiety, Depression with the period ۲۰۲۰ to ۲۰۲۱.Results: There was prevalence of anxiety and depression. Nursing works directly in a continuous and integrated work in the prevention, promotion, protection and treatment of health problems in the population and cooperation with other health professionals. Everyday pressures at work, such as conflict of interest and overload, The technical responsibility required by this profession can be a tireless search for the quality of care, among many other demands, can contribute to the emotional imbalance of nursing professionals. In this study, we sought to identify the prevalence and factors associated with anxiety and depression of professionals working in coping with COVID-۱۹ .The results show important aspects of the nursing work process in the face of epidemics and symptoms of anxiety and depression, which indicates the occurrence of psychological distress among nurses.Conclusion: We need to consider the impact of COVID-۱۹ on nurses' mental health and try coping strategies to minimize the suffering of professionals.
