Abstract:

Gas hydrates are a possible source of global climate change and also potential energy resources. In the present study, methane and synthetic natural gas hydrate dissociation conditions, above the ice point of water, have been measured in a synthetic porous media of silica gel with different pore radii of 10 and 15 nm. The experimental results were compared with the prediction of the thermodynamic model of modified van der Waals and Platteuw, vdWP, for porous media and for gas mixture interfacial energy was modified and the effect of temperature and curvature was taking into account in this modification. Measured experimental data are in good agreement with the model predictions in different pore radii
