Scarcity of water, large quantities of cooling tower blowdown water and increasing of water price lead torecent research about blowdown water treatment for reuse. Pre-treatment may constitute up to one-fourthof the total costs of a membrane desalting facility. By using conventional coagulation and pre-filtrationplants for pre-treatment, significant cost savings may be realized. We used coagulation/RO hybrid processto obtain increasing RO water flux and service life. When we used pre-treatment method before RO, theRO water flux ۳۳ percent increased. Also COD, turbidity and conductivity was decreased. Pre-treatedwater was proper feed for RO in terms of SDI۱۵ and turbidity.
