Abstract:

A new modular and interactive lighting set for a residential apartment based on Iranian girih pattern has presented. This set is also usable for commercial and office apartments, which usually use artificial light at all hours for various reasons, including lack of adequate lighting, disturbing shadows, sensory factors, etc. By making use of Iranian girih pattern traditional designs may be incorporated into modern life. Based on the so-call design up method and use of modular as well as interaction design strategy, its proposal has studied in library research. In order to understand the users' opinions, the survey method through questionnaires, interviews and observations is used as field research. By formulating the design requirements, in which are derived by the field research, chosen designs are illustrated and the top design is selected by surveying users. Considering the Raga brand for the product, its functional, ergonomics and aesthetics perspectives have presented. All standards for user safety have been observed and the user's needs regarding the lighting set have considered. One of the most important points of this research has been the geometric proportions which have greatly contributed to the modularity of the lighting set. According to the user's needs, this Raga apartment lighting set including ceiling and wall lights with the ability to be converted into different models according to the user's environment and taste. Visual appeal, ease of use and proper lighting production are the features of this project.
