In a competitive environment that is increasingly growing, producers are obliged to steadily respond to market changes for their survivorship. The pressure of competitive pricing, short delivery dates, and high customization has shifted the manufacturing system design emphasis to flexibility and responsiveness. It has decreased traditional manufacturing systems to sub-optimal and paved the way for newer ideas of technical and managerial innovations. By group technology systems and rapid detection of solutions for goods customization, this gap can be filled. The Group Technology (GT) production system is to arrange the machines in a way that the number of transits of the semi manufactured products and the specialized experts of certain operations is minimized. This paper will create a unique framework for researchers, academicians and professionals. It is anticipated to help them understand the development of group technology not only as a concept, but also its execution within an organization, and pinpoint conceivable research area developments in the group technology field
