Abstract:

Nowadays, many translation websites have been designed to present translation services and boost the translation market; however, due to the demerits of some websites, there are a series of disorders on the market. The present research aimed at designing a matrix to cover some rubrics including the order of translator's profile, signals of translator status, validity check, verification of translator's identity, test-taking, feedback, revision, and proofreading. It was also within the scope of the present study to represent and investigate the essential features of a more efficient translation website by evaluating the available ones through conducting a qualitative case study. To do so, five popular translation websites were randomly selected. Considering the merits, demerits, and special features found in the cases, some other elements for a more applicable translation website such as the presence of advanced search options or the ability to send feedback to both clients and translators without censorship were defined. The findings of this study may help web designers to create and design a more efficient translation website or modify the existing ones.
