خلاصه مقاله:
The emergence of the novel coronavirus, officially referred to as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus ۲ (SARS-Cov-۲), has become a challenge for all healthcare workers and clinicians worldwide. Presence of the virus in biological fluids such as semen has raised some concerns regarding the treatment of infertility. There is evidence that SARS-CoV-۲, which causes COVID-۱۹, can damage the male reproductive system following the inflammatory process caused by the cytokine storm. However, the direct and long-term effects of SARS-CoV-۲ on infertility and the reproductive capacity of the human testis are still controversial. Persistence of the presence of virus, even after complete recovery, can increase the risk of sexual transmission and cause complications in the male reproductive system leading to adverse effects on their sexual function and fertility. Thus, careful assessment of reproductive organs and testicular function should be taken into consideration during the evaluation of male patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the invasive effect of SARS-CoV-۲ on the testis and its effect on male reproduction.Key words
