In this research, the preparation and characterization of Carbon Nanotube-PolyPyrrole (CNT-PPy)/Epoxy nanocomposites manufactured by solution mode were investigated. The effect of surface modification of CNT through PPy grafted, on dispersion state, electrical conductivity, and thermal stability was studied. By incorporation of ۰.۲۵ to ۱ wt.% of CNT-PPy nanoparticles to the epoxy matrix, the direct current (DC) electrical conductivity results showed a low electrical percolation threshold of about ۰.۲۵ wt.% of CNT-PPy due to the excellent dispersion of nanoparticles in epoxy resin that showed by SEM micrographs. Also, with ۳D network formation at ۰.۲۵%wt of PPy-CNT nanoparticles, the thermal stability was significantly enhanced due to the cage effect and the volatile materials suppressed during the Epoxy-based nanocomposite coating degradation. In other words, as the loading of CNT-PPY nanoparticles reached the percolation threshold, the ۳D network formed and PPy-CNT nanoparticles acted as a shielding cage. So, the repercussion of the creation ۳D network was to suppress small molecules produced by the thermal degradation of chains
