Abstract:
Essential oils (EO) are highly concentrated hydrophobic liquids that contain complex combinations of aroma compounds that are biosynthesized as secondary metabolites as a protection against infections, herbivores, insects, and UV light. They well recognized as natural antimicrobial additives. It is ordinarily hard to achieve high antimicrobial vulnerability when mixing with EO in nourishment based items because of low dissolvability of water and interactive binding. Nanoemulsions are good carriers for bioactive compounds that are hydrophobic and poorly soluble. The biological activity of the encapsulated lipophilic chemical nanoemulsion is also improved due to greater reactivity and better molecular transfer through membranes for the same reasons. Finally, by increasing their dispersion in the area where pathogenic bacteria live, EOs encapsulated in nanoemulsion exhibit increased antibacterial action compared to bulk essential oil.
