Abstract:

The continuous growth of electricity demand has caused new challenges for maintaining distribution network efficiency. In recent years, distributed generation (DG) resources have drawn more attention to meet these challenges. This paper deals with the optimal sizing and placement of distributed generation resources and capacitor bank (CB) considering demand response (DR) program. For this, the type, location, and size of the DG must be chosen correctly. Due to the intermittent nature of renewable distributed generation sources such as photovoltaic and wind turbine in addition to the development of smart distribution networks and implementation of demand response programs, electricity prices will be different at different hours of the day, which leads to change daily consumption patterns. The objective function of this study includes technical, economic, and environmental objectives that are optimized as the multi-objective problem using analytic hierarchy process method. The system under study is part of the real network of Khoy town. Evaluation of the results shows the efficiency of the study in improving the technical, economic, and environmental indices of the distribution network.
