Data was collected using semi-open ended and researcher-made self-administered questionnaire from randomly selected students. In multivariable logistic regression, P-value less than ۰.۰۵ and Odds ratios at ۹۵% confidence intervals was used to determine presence of association between dependent and independent variables by using STATA version ۱۴.۱ windows program. Results: Overall, a total of ۵۷۱ students participated in the study and made the response rate ۹۳%.Of respondents, ۴۰۵(۷۱%) initiated sexual intercourse and ۸۲(۱۴.۴%) students reported at least one syndrome. Age >۲۴ years [AOR=۸.۰۵;۹۵%CI:۲.۸۰-۲۳.۱۲] and ۲۰-۲۴years [AOR=۲.۷;۹۵%CI:۱.۱۸-۶.۱۷], being ۳rd [AOR=۵.۲۳;۹۵%CI:۲.۲۳-۱۲.۲۸] and ۲nd year student [AOR=۲.۴۵;۹۵%CI:۱.۲۰-۵.۰۱], having multiple sexual partners [AOR=۹.۳۸;۹۵%CI:۴.۴۶-۱۹.۷۳], having poor knowledge [AOR=۲.۹۳;۹۵%CI:۱.۴۹-۵.۷۷] and inconsistent condom use [AOR=۳.۱۰;۹۵%CI:۱.۴۰-۶.۹۰] were factors associated with sexually transmitted diseases. Conclusion: The prevalence of self-reported sexually transmitted infections among college students in Motta town was high. Thus, building up students’ knowledge and encourage them to abstain from having multiple sexual partners and using condom consistently are important issues.
