DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF BUILDINGS AND STI;L:CTURES UNDER SEISMIC EFFECTS

The method of the dynamic analysis of buildings and structures urder shcrt-time loads produced by earthquakes, explosions, sudden collapses, etc., is developed. Unlike traditional methods, the method proposed makes the determi-nation of natural frequencies and modes of vibrations •innecessary. A design model of a building is assumed as a systerr, of struct...zral elements with dis-tributed masses and stiffnesses. To evaluate the dyneznic forces in elements of a building caused by foundation displacements durinz- an earthquake, a building is represented schematically as a number of separate elements, the displacement of each of the elements being considered under conditions of inertial forces and responses of adjacent elements cc:it-red and loads appli-ed. The solution is obtained in Laplace transforms. In-.•ersion is made ising the residue theory. With the method proposed, the dynamic forces in elements of buildings and buried structures induced by an earth.quake is catenated.
