DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF SEFIDROUD BUTTRESS DAM DURING THE MANJIL-ROUDBAR EARTHQUAKE

In this research the case of cracks induced by the recent earthquake to the Sefidroud concrete dam is investigated by a linear dynamic analysis of a prototype buttress including the dam-reservoir-foundation interaction effct under the estimated level of seismic loads. The tensile failure mechanism is identified as confirmed by the crack location and mode. Some assessments of the effectiveness of the repair methods are also carried out
