Abstract:

The functionalized carbon quantum dots were synthesized by one-pot solvothermal route using citric acid, urea and DMSO. Characterization of the synthesized carbon quantum dots properties were investigated through dynamic light scattering (DLS), UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and FT-IR. The fluorescence quantum yield of the carbon quantum dots before and after conjugation to disulfiram has been calculated ۵.۲ % and ۲.۹ % respectively. Disulfiram (DSF) was conjugated to the carbon quantum dots by disulfide covalent binding. The drug loading was measured using a dialysis membrane
