Abstract:
Studies on the assessment of seismic hazard, based on probabilistic methods, were first started in Georgia in ۱۹۷۳ [I]. The theory of seismic "Shakebility", created by Riznichenko [۲], was used to calculate the average recurrence periods of events of given macroseismic intensity (MSK-۶۴ scale) Later on, the application of probabilistic procedures for the quantitative evaluation of seismic hazard at specific sites roused increasing interest. The map of seismic hazard is constructed, based on regularities of seismic regime and attenuation of intensity where the macroseismic intensity ۱, peak ground acceleration PGA, seismic potential Mni„, or Km„, seismic .activity A, deformation rate in scalar form v and seismic risk are shown simultaneously. Here we use only quantitative approach_ Macroseismic intensity is given in MKS-۶۴ scale, PGA is given in gravitaitonal acceleration (milligall).
