High cost of photovoltaic systems necessitate to get them in high efficiency utilization systems. Among existing methods for maximum power point tracking (MPPT), Incremental conductance method by having a relatively high speed and accuracy is unable to make a good compromise between radiation and ambient temperature. In this paper in addition to improving the Incremental conductance method, a new and robust method based on model predictive control (MPC) is presented to trace and extract the current, corresponding to the maximum power point. This method is real-time method so the results of simulation confirm the speed and accuracy of this method.
