Traffic Prediction with Image Processing A Survey of Methods

Transportation system is a complex system and essential part of cities. Traffic jam depends on several bad phenomenon such as increasing number of vehicles as well as alack of correct control. Considering its bad affect to the cities, development of related technologies like traffic prediction and detectors become interesting for academic and industry researchers. As for prediction, the need for reliable and accurate results is of high importance. Therefore, traffic prediction is challenging and over the years a number of combined algorithms from research fields such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Heuristics, and Image Processing methods have been proposed in the literature. In this paper we present the result of our survey of traffic prediction methods and algorithms with the main focus on ones use image processing as the base.
