Dead time selection in reclosing of transmission lines depends on some criterions. It should not be less than time required for extinguishing secondary arc .Also; It was proved that if dead time is appropriately selected, angular stability of power system can be improved. It must be emphasized that with regard to operation conditions and fault severity, best dead time which satisfies stability concern is varied. So, in this paper we`ve proposed a real-time method for selection of dead time based on Single Machine Equivalent (SIME) approach
