Abstract:

The impact of different fuels on the proficiency of a micro-solid oxide fuel cell (m-SOFC) has been studied. The validation process was carried out to confirm the outcomes versus the experimental values. Three types of fuels including H۲, CH۴, and C۲H۶ were utilized as m-SOFC fuel. The achieved data showed that as the hydrogen-to-carbon proportion diminished, the diffusivity of the oxygen particle went up. This expansion in diffusivity was noticed in the light of the fact that the number of hydrogen molecules accessible as the reaction species improved with lower hydrogen-to-carbon proportions. The oxygen particle conductivity and yield power density diminished as the hydrogen-to-carbon proportion of the fuels reduced. The explanation for this impact was the arrangement of a gas-actuated particle deterrent at the anode-electrolyte interface by the CO۲ atoms created during the reaction at the interface, hence obstructing the progression of oxygen particles. As the oxygen particles became hindered, the yield current portion from the response likewise diminished and consequently influenced the general accomplishment of the miniature solid oxide fuel cell.
