Abstract:

Menopause is one of the most critical stages in women's lives and a physiological event that affects their quality of life through physical, psychological and social problems. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of education based on Trans theoretical Theory (TTM) on physical activity in postmenopausal women in the city of Qaein in ۲۰۱۶.Materials and Methods: In this semi-experimental interventional study, ۲۰۰ postmenopausal women referred to comprehensive health centers in the city of Gain were selected through multi-stage sampling. Data were collected using two international questionnaires of physical activity of IQ and researcher questionnaire. Regarding the non-normality of the data, descriptive statistics (percentage, mean) and nonparametric analyzes (Mann-Whitney, Spearman correlation) were used for data analysis. To examine the difference between the mean score changes in the structures before and after the intervention, the Mann-Whitney test, and Spearman correlation test was used to determine the relationship between behavior and structures. The subjects of the experimental group were examined for three sessions of educational intervention based on the Trans theoretical Theory model. Questionnaires were completed before, immediately and three months after the completion of educational intervention for the two groups. Finally, the collected data were analyzed using SPSS۲۲ software. Results: After intervention, the percentage of people in the pre-thinking phase decreased from ۸۰ to ۱۷% compared to the control group (۸۰ to ۷۹%). The score of awareness-raising constructs, self-efficacy, perceived benefits, emotional arousal, re-evaluation, re-self-assessment, assisted communication and physical behavior in the intervention group were significantly higher than the control group and based on the Mann-Whitney test between the two groups. Conclusion: The results showed that education in the framework of the meta-analysis model increases the amount of physical activity in postmenopausal women and thus improves their health.
