Abstract:

Osteoporosis is a chronic disorder and there are multiple factors that lead to osteoporosis. Aspects of human lifestyle such as physical activity, and day time life have positive effects up on bone health especially bone loss or osteoporosis among older people. the aim of this study was to investigate the effects of age on Bone mineral density in active men. ۱۳۵ men were healthy and active adults with an average age of ۲۵ to ۷۰ years with medical records and clinical trials were selected at Milad Hospital in Tehran. SPSS software version ۲۶ was used for data analysis. Pearson correlation coefficient was used. We found that the correlation coefficients between age and femur bone mineral density of active men was significantly decreased with age (۲۵–۳۹, ۴۰–۵۵, ۵۶–۷۰) (P≤۰.۰۵). Our study reveals that BMD decreases rapidly with age. After ۵۰ years old, decreasing amount of BMD speeds up. We believe that this study can help medical practitioners make appropriate decisions to help patients cope with reductions in the ability to exercise caused by aging and reductions in BMD due to aging.
