Abstract:
Static Var Compensator (SVC) is one of the shunt connected FACTS devices, improves the network stability, limiting the low frequency oscillations, etc. Power System Stabilizer (PSS) has an effective role to damping oscillation, too. This paper focuses on simultaneous coordinated design of SVC and PSS with controllers in single-machine infinite-bus power system where the PSS and SVC do not have the same controllers. SVC has the output feedback controller and PSS has a PI controller. The both of SVC and PSS have been used to improve the damping of power system oscillations. The coefficients of SVC and PSS controllers have been optimized by Honey Bee algorithm (HBA). The equations that describe the proposed system have been linearized, then the system with proposed controllers has been simulated for the special disturbance and the dynamic responses of generator have been represented.
