خلاصه مقاله:
In this paper, homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is introduced to investigate buckling of freestanding carbon nanotubes in the vicinity of the graphene layers. A continuum nano-scaled model is employed to obtain nonlinear constitutive equation of freestanding nanotubes. The van der Waals attraction is computed from the simplified Lennard-Jones potential for two common engineering cases including large and small number of graphene layers. An analytical closed-form solution is obtained in terms of convergent series with easily computable components. The intermolecular force-induced deflection, minimum initial gap and stable length of freestanding nanotubes are determined. The analytical results agree well with numerical solutions. The results of the HPM are also compared with lumped parameter model and approximated solution
