Abstract:

This paper presents mild combustion mode of particulate reactive flow in which biomass particles are used as the main fuel. Structure of laminar, one-dimensional and steady state flame propagation in uniform cloud of volatile organic particles is applied. In this model, it is assumed that the particles vaporize to yield a gaseous fuel. In order to study the effects of recirculated mass from exhausted gases of the combustion of organic particles based on the large Zeldovich number or high rate of reaction, asymptotic analysis is used. The structure of flame is divided into three zones; Broad preheat vaporization zone, thin reaction zone and Broad convection zone. It is considered that a massive exhaust gas recirculates to preheat zone where in mix with primary particles and gases to dilute the combustion air and generates relatively low flame temperatures; The oxygen concentration in the main reaction region of the furnace is reduced to a lower concentration with respect to the case of undiluted air, allowing for a better control of the reactants kinetic and furnace average temperature. At last the flame characteristics for different equivalence ratio of solid mixture by considering radiation effects for different amount of mass recirculated is studied.
