The Impact of Urban and Inter-city Transport Insurance on Profit and Loss of Insurance Companies (Case Study of Iran Insurance Joint-stock Company)

Life, health and properties of people are perceived to be consistently exposed to natural disasters. Fear of the damage caused by these accidents has called on human beings to devise ways of preventing and compensating for possible damages, as men have sought to employ various tools and instruments in accordance with the way of life and social structure of differing eras. In Persian, the word for insurance is Bimeh, the root for which is the word Bim, meaning fear, hence referring to the fear of accident and damage, but in English, French and Arabic, the terms corresponding to security and guarantee are used for this purpose.Due to their role in the economy of society, insurance companies can promote the growth and development of the whole economy of the country by preserving national wealth and compensating for financial losses to the economy, as well as providing, securing and developing large investments in society. The research population of this consisted of ۳۵۷ customers of Iran Insurance Joint-stock Company. This research sought to examine the the factors affecting accidents, as being classified into three main causes of accidents (i.e., humans, environment, cars), and hence the role and position of Iran Insurance Joint-stock Company in reducing traffic accidents, thereby providing some recommendation of insurance solutions.
