Abstract:

Phenols and phenolic compounds in general are currently pro duced by i ndustries li ke petroleu m refining, leather and textile, and olive oil production; thu s a signific ant amount of these compounds is present in the corresp onding wa tewater [۱]. The amou nt of anili ne produced in US and China is o ver ۴۵۷,۰۰۰ and ۸۰,۰۰۰ t per year, respectivel y. There were more than ۱۵۰ kinds of down-st ream produc ts of aniline . Aniline ha s great harm ful effect f or public health and e nvironmental quality, so more and more rigorous limits on the lettin gamount of aniline have been established.Especially ,aniline-c ontained w astewater has brought a series of serious environmentalproblem because of its high toxicity an daccumul ation in the environment. Adsorptio n technolog y in particular has bee n used for t he removal of organic compounds from waste water [۲]. M esoporous silicates (SB A and MC M types) offer a number of potential advantage s of nanopo rous materials (IUPAC classificatio n [۳]), as adsorbents i ncluding lar ger pore volume and diameter, high surface are a and regular channel type structures [۴].In this w ork, we st udied the a niline adsorption on a mesoporous SBA-۱۵ w ith non-ionic substrate (P۱۲۳) fro m its aqueous solutio n and a co mparison of five isoth erms such as Langmuir, Freundlich and Redlich–Peterson , have been applied to the experiment of anili ne sorption on rhis nano adsorbent.
