A method for knowledge-sharing optimization in selecting project team members

In spite of ample emphasis in the previous researches on the required levels of technical expertise in the project team members, no method in these investigations proposed that could contribute to the sharing of the knowledge, acquired during the project lifecycle, among the team members and their colleagues in their related functional units. Therefore, this paper intends to propose a method for formation of the project teams in R&D firms, which facilitates the knowledge sharing among people. To this end, three types of knowledge sharing during project lifecycle identified and modeled. Afterward, mathematical modeling used to formulate the problem of selecting appropriate members for the project team. Finally, the application of proposed method in selecting project team members examined by using an illustrative example.
