Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN) have been developed for remote patient monitoring and controlling their health conditions. Energy-efficient design of WBAN is needed to improve such network lifetime and quality of service. However, biosensors may generate an uncertain rate of data. Ignoring traffic uncertainty leads to faulty design and routing decisions, which may decrease the quality of network operation, and its consequences would threaten patient health conditions. Hence, this paper proposes a two-stage robust optimization method for an Energy-aware WBAN design with uncertain data-rate, which is formulated using mixed-integer linear programming models.
