Demulsification Of Oil-In-Water Emulsions Using Iron Nanoparticles

In this study, iron nanoparticles (Fe۳O۴) were synthesized as an environmentally friendly and low cost demulsifier by co-precipitation method and the demulsification effect of these iron nanoparticles in oil-in-water emulsion was evaluated by a bottle test. Bottle test results showed that iron nanoparticles with good separation percentage at optimal concentration of ۶۰۰ ppm and short separation time (less than two minutes) can be used as a suitabledemulsification for instability of oil-in-water emulsion. The Fourier transform infrared of nanoparticles was taken and the zeta potential of nanoparticles was investigated
