خلاصه مقاله:
In the next decades, solar energy would be one of the best renewable energy sources for energy supply. The use of active and passive solar systems helps to take advantage of solar energy. The term "passive solar systems" refers to systems that absorb, store, and distribute solar energy without relying on mechanical devices like pumps, fans, and controllers. This method can minimize the amount of energy consumed in different components of a building. There are different approaches to passive utilization of solar energy, some of which have been used in traditional Iranian architecture, and others are used in modern architecture. This study tries to investigate and introduce the most common solar passive techniques used in traditional Iranian architecture, including windcatcher, central courtyard, cellar,Godal-Baghcheh, Shovadan, Shenashir, Kharkhaneh, as well as that of modern architecture, including water wall, roof pond, Tromb wall, solar greenhouse, solar chimney, and Atrium. The research method is descriptive-analytical, to have a better understanding of these techniques and benefit from them in the new building designs.
