Abstract:

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between lifestyle and coping with stress strategies in breast cancer patients and healthcare workers. The Current research is a correlational study because it seeks to find the relationship between variables. The statistical population includes cancer patients who attended to the oncology department and the healthcare workers containing ۲۰ women and ۱۵ men in the patient group and ۱۲ women and ۱۰ men in the healthcare worker group. What maintains the mental and even physical balance in individuals is the correct and logical confrontation with energetic stimuli. In severe cases of inability to cope with stress, the possibility of abnormal and hazardous behaviors also increase significantly. method: In this study, ۳۵ cancer patients participate ranging from ۲۵ to ۸۰ years old who attended the oncology department and ۲۲ people of the healthcare workers. Primarily, all participants answered the questions on the consent form and personal details of the GHQ-۲۸ General Health Form with ۲۸ items and the modified General Health Form with ۱۴ items based on the covid-۱۹ epidemic period. Then, the short form of the coping inventory for stressful situation questionnaire presented by Andler and Parker and the risk capacity questionnaire to assess the risk-taking ability was used to assess the level of stress.Data analysis was performed using ANOVA and t-test. results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between cancer patients and healthcare workers considering combined dependent variables (coping with stress skills, risk-taking level). (P <۰.۰۰۱) There was a significant difference in all stress coping subscales.There was a significant difference between the two groups in the social entertainment varible and risk-taking level. Conclusion: Cancer patients use more emotional and social strategies and also have a higher risk-takng ability than normal papulation.
