Considering the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases in Iran and the importance of mental and social health of patients suffering from these diseases, the present study aimed to compare the quality of life, methods to deal with stress, hopefulness and irrational beliefs in patients with cardiovascular diseases and healthy people in Karaj city, Iran. The present analytical-descriptive causal-comparative study was performed on ۱۰۰ individuals with cardiovascular diseases and ۱۰۰ healthy people through the available sampling method.In this work, questionnaires of global health quality of life, Andler and Parker stress coping styles, Jones's irrational beliefs and Schneider's hope were used. Analysis was performed through SPSS. The findings revealed that the cardiovascular patients have higher excitement-based coping and avoidance styles, and irrational beliefs than the healthy people. However, healthy people had higher problem-based life styles and significantly higher life quality and hopefulness than the cardiovascular patients.
