Background: Nosocomial infections have always been one of the major problems of health centers and have increased its importance day by day and have seriously challenged the health system of countries. Increasing and diverse needs for medical services, emerging and re-emerging diseases and increasing microbial resistance have made the occurrence of these types of infections inevitable. Considering that nosocomial infections lead to many mental and physical injuries to hospitalized patients, prolong the duration of treatment and recovery of the patient and on the other hand cause great economic losses to the health system and patients, the present study aims to investigate The most common nosocomial infections and the conditions that cause them.Methods: The present study was a summary review study designed in ۲۰۲۱. PubMed / Medline and Scopus databases were used to search for similar studies and extract contents. Selected keywords used for the search included “Breast Neoplasms”, “Risk Factors”. Summaries of articles published in congresses and conferences were excluded from the study. Lastly, ۱۲ articles were evaluated. Results: The following are the most important sources of transmission of microorganisms and consequently infection in the hospital: -Contact transmission, which is the most common and important way of transmitting infection and includes any direct and indirect contact. -Airborne transmission -Transmission through contaminated common equipment -Transmission through vectors such as mosquitoes, flies and mice, which play little role in transmitting nosocomial infections. According to studies, ۲۵% of nosocomial infections are transmitted through respiration and blood. Conclusion: Due to the problems that nosocomial infections cause for medical centers, staff and have affected the treatment process and recovery period. The first step to prevent it can be considered the implementation of special training programs for patients, companions and hospital staff.
