Abstract:
This study tried to find out the effect of Icebreakers on Iranian intermediate EFL learners' Willingness to communicate. The participants were divided into two groups of control and experimental, comprising ۳۰ learners each. The experimental group received some ice breakers as the treatment of the research while the control group was thought traditionally. A questionnaire on willingness to communicate were given to both groups as the pre and post-tests. After collecting the data out of the willingness to communicate questionnaire, the data were analyzed in SPSS.The results showed that using icebreakers were had positive effects on Iranian intermediate EFL learners' willingness to communicate. It also revealed that gender has no impact on learners' willingness to communicate. Finally, using the Two-way ANOVA, it was revealed that the interaction between gender and different types of icebreakers has no effect on learners' willingness to communicate
