Abstract:

The main reason for the dynamics of systems is the energy storage elements (inductor and capacitor). Control systems are used to deal with some unwanted dynamic phenomena. Control systems in power plants include governor and automatic voltage control (AVR) and several control systems in power grids such as static VAR compensation (SVC) and power system stabilizer (PSS). In this paper, a photovoltaic and battery based control system is presented for network frequency damping. Frequency deviation from a sufficient value is selected as a signal to stimulate the automatic control system and thus keeps the frequency of the system frequency constant by creating active power between the source and the consumer. The system was simulated in MATLAB software that connected to Standard IEEE ۱۴-Bus Network and includes a photovoltaic array as active power generator and a battery as active power storage. This photovoltaic array can be connected to AC load with inverter or to DC load with DC-DC converter. The shape of the network simulation is given in the appendix. The results show that this system helps to frequency stability by balancing the active power in the network in the event of an error.
