Abstract:

Furniture and products that wood is their basic ingredient can emit a remarkable amount of formaldehyde that can cause detrimental health effects for the residents of such houses, however, the amount of formaldehyde concentration can differ under various circumstances. This study aims to understand the impacts of different factors such as temperature, humidity and, air exchange rate on the formaldehyde concentration, and indicate that how these criteria can affect human health on both cancerous and non-cancerous diseases. It has been proved that an increase in the amount of temperature and relative humidity can have a direct connection with the increase of cancerous and non-cancerous diseases. On the other hand, when the air exchange rate decreased caused less air purification, as a result, the concentration of formaldehyde surged to new levels. It has been proved that maintaining the aforementioned factors to a standard amount can reduce the catastrophic health impacts of the hazardous formaldehyde pollutant.
