خلاصه مقاله:
High performance concrete (HPC) has been widely used in the construction industry due to its improved characteristics. The use of HPC reduces material requirements and leads to cost-effective designs. HPC, however, is more brittle and has smoother shear failure surfaces than normal strength concrete (NSC). Studying shear failure in reinforced concrete beams is important. Shear failure is brittle, catastrophic, and sudden and should be properly considered in design procedures. Most current design codes provisions are based on experimental tests on NSC specimens that have the concrete compressive strength of less than about ۴۰ MPa. Hence it is essential to re-examine codes equations in order to be suitable for HPC members. Various researchers have proposed new formulas for estimating the shear capacity of HPC beams. In this paper, available equations for the shear strength of HPC beams are considered. Design formulas used in this research include the ACI ۳۱۸ code, Australian Standard, and ۱۵ proposed formulas by other researchers for HPC beams with stirrups. In this study, ۱۱۲ test data reported from literature are used to compare with selected formulas.
