Comparative review on the drug -delivery applications of Zeolites, MOFs and Zeolite-like carriers with emphasis on chemical composition and structures

There is a growing interest to achive appropriate engineered functional drug delivery systems (DDS).A mong diverse structures, Zeolites and Metal Organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted significant research attention as porous controlled-release drug carriers. Despite the importance of these materials in drug delivery systems and their confusing structural similarities, there is a lack of comparative resources, which describe their performance based on chemical and structural differences and consider the possibility of combining useful properties. Zeolite-like materials,the unique subset of MOFs with exceptional characteristics of Zeolites and MOFs offer promising medical applications. This article gives a comparative review on zeolites, MOFs and Zeolite-like ( ZIF-۸) applications in drug delivery with emphasis on chemical structures
