Abstract:

In the current work, a fast and simple method was investigated for the preparation of silver-zinc oxide nanoparticles (Ag-ZnNPs) by using gum extraction from Pistacia Atlantica gum (PA) as a reductant agent. In-vitro antimicrobial activities of PA-Ag-ZnNPs were also evaluated. Biosynthesis of the nanocomposites was characterized and confirmed by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV–vis), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR),and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The results of phytochemical analysis showed high concentrations of phenols (۱۴۹.۳۵ ± ۰.۲۱ mg) and ascorbic acid (۲۰.۷۹ ± ۰.۰۸ mg) and low concentrations of flavonoids (۵۶.۱۶ ± ۰.۱۴ mg). Then, antimicrobial activity was tested against bacteria Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia. Maximum inhibition zones were observed ۱۸.۶±۱.۲ mm and ۱۵±۰.۰۸ mm. These results are promising in terms of their potential ability to be used against pathogenic bacteria.
