A series of donor-(π-spacer)-acceptor porphyrin dyes as photosensitizers have been studied. In these systems porphyrins have donor and acceptor as well as π-spacer groups. Donor group contains an electron donor moiety and acceptor group contains an electron acceptor moiety.
