Abstract:

One of the most effective methods to respond to load growth and also to provide a certain level of reliability is the use of DG dispersed products. Several technologies can be used as DG resources. Such as photovoltaic cells; Wind turbines; Combustion engines; Fuel cells and... Power factor correction means that the reactive power required by the load is generated near the load instead of from the mains. The construction of a capacitive bank at the load site is a suitable way to modify the power factor. In this paper, the aim is to optimally position and measure the DG and capacitor (simultaneously and independently) in a radial distribution network. By properly considering the objective function, the problem is solved in a multi-objective way with the help of a particle swarm algorithm. The simulation results are evaluated on the ۶۹-bus IEEE standard network and the effect of the presence of DG and capacitor in the network is investigated.
