Abstract:

This article examines the ways to remove obstacles to sustainable urban development in the metropolis of Tehran. In this article, descriptive-analytical method has been used. This article describes and analyzes the issue after reviewing credible documents and sources on the subject. The results of this study show that ways to overcome the barriers and challenges facing a sustainable city include: environmental impacts (including reducing the effects of greenhouse gases and other gases, and retinking waste); Providing human needs (including using healthy air,using clean water, using Making streets fit for people and using Better public building with a basic structure; Governance (including An appetite for change, Leaders who can think long term,Working across administrative boundaries, Freedom to control land and assets, and Complete focus on whole-life value); And Public responsibility (involving people in urban development or human resource management in urban development).
