Abstract:
This paper experimentally analyzes the phenomenon of aeroelasticity and flutter in an unsteady inflow in a subsonic wind tunnel on the three wings with airfoils of NACA ۰۰۱۵, SC-۱۰۹۵, and HH-۰۲. The angle of divergence or structural failure is expressed in terms of freestream velocity. At first, the variation of aerodynamic forces of wings was analyzed, and then, by changing the elastic angle, the variation of flutter velocity was studied over the non-dimensional variables. The results have been compared by the analytic equations of steady, quasi-steady, unsteady flow, and Theodorsen's work
