Abstract:
Nonlinear motion of the nanocantilever probe in the atomic force microscope (AFM) has been extensively studied in many articles. Given that the behavior of the nanocantilever is vital to quality of generated images, the study of control strategies that force the probe to avoid undesired behavior such as chaotic motion, is also of outstanding problems. As a matter of fact, in this paper, the dynamic response of atomic force microscope is introduced in the presence of attractive and repulsive van der Waals forces. Then, the chaotic motions of atomic force microscope is analyzed and controlled. To this aim, robust adaptive versions of fuzzy controller is designed and implemented, and the chaotic vibrations of atomic force microscope are completely controlled and suppressed. The results show that the robust adaptive fuzzy controller can be considered as a powerful method of chaos controlling in the dynamic model of atomic force microscope.
