Abstract:

Due to the pollution caused by the use of fossil fuels and non-renewable, the use of clean and renewable fuels such as hydrogen gas is recommended. One of the most efficient processes for hydrogen gas production is the reforming process. The use of methane as a cheap and greenhouse gas is one of the reforming methods to obtain hydrogen as the primary feed of the process along with deforming agents such as water, oxygen, and carbon dioxide. Modeling of this process is necessary to study the parameters, describe the phenomena, examine the effect of any kind of abrupt change, and optimize. Therefore, instead of changing the industrial unit, which take a lot of time and cost, applied the desired changes in the model and after optimizing the operating conditions, can apply on a larger scale. Among all the equations governing the process, the kinetic equation is more important due to manual input into the software, creating errors and convergent answers. In this research, firstly the types of kinetic models used in the reforming process, temperature, pressure, the type of catalyst, and the type of reactor is investigated that results showed the Langmuir-Hinshelwood and Nickel catalyst kinetic models have been used the most, secondly shows ۳.D figure of components and temperature with modeling of steam and dry reforming in CFD.
