Data mining is an automatic or semi-automatic technical process that analyses large amounts of scattered information to make sense of it and turn it into knowledge. Bioinformatics is defined as the application of tools of computation and analysis to the capture and interpretation of biological data. Data mining techniques are key to improving quality and accuracy to deal with bioinformatics challenges. In this paper, some applications of data mining methods in bioinformatics are briefly reviewed .
