Abstract:

Developmental coordination disorder is used to describe children who have difficulty performing some motor skills and who lack the competence to cope with their daily motor needs. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of selected exercises on reaction time and postural control of ۸ to ۱۰ year old girls in Kermanshah. Among all students in schools in Kermanshah, ۲۰ children with developmental coordination disorder were diagnosed using the Bruinix-Ozertsky test and the list of developmental disorders, which were divided into two groups of experimental (۱۰ people) and control (۱۰). Postural control and reaction time These children were measured by force platform device and reaction time device. The research method was pretest-posttest in which the experimental group performed selected exercises (a combination of aerobic exercises and rhythmic games) for ۸ weeks. And the control group did not receive any exercise or intervention. Multivariate analysis of variance and one-way analysis of covariance were used to evaluate the effect of exercise and to determine the difference between the groups. Findings show the effect of selected exercises on two variables of reaction time (in all conditions) as well as postural control (p≥۰.۰۵). Therefore, the experimental group showed better performance as well as improvement in the disorder and showed the positive effect of these exercises on children
